1. What this is

This agreement is between you and the operator of Nyktos ("we", "us"). It gives you permission to use the Nyktos app and service. It works together with our Terms of Service — if they ever conflict, the Terms win on conduct and this EULA wins on licensing.

2. License grant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Nyktos on devices you own or control, for your own lawful communication. That's it — this is a license, not a sale. You don't own Nyktos, and this agreement gives you no ownership rights in it.

3. What you may not do

Under this license you may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or try to extract the app's source — including any attempt to recover other users' private keys or break the end-to-end encryption
• Copy, redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app
• Scrape user data, harvest usernames, or run automated clients/bots against the service
• Remove or alter any branding, notices, or the open-source attributions in the app
• Use Nyktos as part of a competing messaging product or to build one from what you learn inside it

4. Ownership

Nyktos — the app, the service, the name, the design, and all related intellectual property — belongs to its operator. Your messages belong to you. Your encryption keys belong to you and never leave your device. Everything else is ours.

5. Updates

We may push updates that add, change, or remove features. Some updates may be required to keep using the service (for example, security fixes to the cryptography). This license covers updated versions too.

6. Termination of license

This license ends automatically if you break it, or if your account is terminated under the Terms of Service. When it ends, you must stop using Nyktos and delete any copies. Sections 4 (Ownership) and 7 (Export) survive termination.

7. Export compliance

Nyktos uses strong cryptography (libsodium: X25519, Ed25519). You agree not to use or export the app in violation of applicable export laws, and not to use it in any country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, or if you are on a restricted-party list.

8. No warranty

Same as the Terms: Nyktos is provided as-is, with no warranties of any kind. Encryption is math, but software has bugs.
