1. What Nyktos is

Nyktos is an end-to-end encrypted messaging app. Messages, calls, and files are sealed on your device before they leave it — the server only ever holds ciphertext it cannot read. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

You need a real email address and a unique username. You're responsible for keeping your login email secure. Your encryption keys live in your browser's local storage — if you lose them (new device, cleared data), old messages can't be recovered, and that's by design, not a bug we can fix for you.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use Nyktos to:

• Spam, harass, threaten, or impersonate people
• Share content that's illegal where you live — including CSAM, which we report
• Infringe copyrights — see our DMCA policy
• Scrape the service, probe for vulnerabilities without permission, or try to break other people's encryption

Because message content is end-to-end encrypted, we can't see what you send. But we can act on what's visible to us: usernames, avatars, group names, file uploads, and abuse reports from other users.

4. Termination

We can suspend or delete accounts that break these terms — especially for spam, harassment, or illegal content. If your account is deleted, your profile and metadata go with it. Encrypted message ciphertext addressed to you may persist until its recipients' disappearing-message timers lapse, but nobody can read it without your keys, which are gone.

5. No warranty

Nyktos is provided as-is. We don't promise it'll be up 100% of the time, bug-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Encryption is math, but software has bugs — use disappearing messages and safety-number verification for anything that truly matters.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we're not liable for anything that goes wrong through your use of Nyktos — lost messages, lost keys, downtime, or anything someone else sends you. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us, which is nothing: Nyktos is free.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. Big changes get a notice in the app; continuing to use Nyktos after that means you accept them.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. Disputes go to the courts of Dhaka.
